I’ve been cramming a lot of the news and video highlights that have been coming out in the last few hours since the race ended.  Here’s a roundup of some of the best so far:

Triathlete magazine has the a good write up on the ins and outs of the race.

Triathlete also has great pic galleries of the men’s race and the women’s race.  Slowtwitch has one gallery up, and I suspect many more to come.

Ironman’s YouTube channel has a good video recap of the pro race.

Firstoffthebike has Mirinda (Rinny) Carfrae’s post race interview posted.  (It sounds like Macca is asking some of the questions?)  Her 2:50 marathon is incredible, and I think the biggest talking point of the whole race.  It was the third fastest overall run split, which is, frankly, astounding.  She also took the course record from Chrissie Wellington by over a minute.

Firstoffthebike has a great interview with Luke McKenzie after his breakthrough 2nd place finish.

I think other talking points are Frederik Van Lierde’s first win, breaking the Aussie dominance for the last six years, as well as Sebastien Kienle not having the fastest bike split of the day.
