It is our own character and experience that determine our influence upon others. In order to convince others of the power of Christ’s grace, we must know its power in our own hearts and lives. The gospel we present for the saving of souls must be the gospel by which our own souls are saved. Only through a living faith in Christ as a personal Saviour is it possible to make our influence felt in a skeptical world. If we would draw sinners out of the swift-running current, our own feet must be firmly set upon the Rock, Christ Jesus. – Our Father Cares p 217
Jude 24,25 – Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, (25) To God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen.
Changing the world naturally begins with changing ourselves. Sometimes (maybe more than sometimes) it’s easier for me to see the problems and inconsistencies in others. I need to stop, apply the standard to myself, obtain victory myself, and incorporate the change in character. But I want a better character and to change the world, so I need a character that can change the world.
