Ohio Mission Trip America Application
Download ThisGeneration’s TGen OH Mission Trip America Application for the Dayton, OH program.
Mission Trip America is designed to reach an American city by combining a mission trip and an evangelism training program. The program combines high quality training from experienced evangelism trainers with active outreach for both young people and church members. Each summer our students reach thousands of people, and generate several hundred Bible study requests.
The mission trips have had a profound impact on the lives of the young people attending. Some attendees sign up for two weeks to maximize their training and mission experience. Young people experience God working in their lives as they work for Him. Each year young people are converted, request baptism, and pledge to become missionaries for life.
TGen Ohio Staff Update
I traveled to Southern this last weekend to interview staff for the mission trips. Joe Reeves helped me connect with several friends and students.
I am pleased to announce that Katie Hickman and Amir Davis will be joining the program as deans/outreach leaders. Had great interviews with them, and the mission trips are a great fit for them, as they are good fits as staff. I’m looking forward to finding out who our last two deans will be!
God also set up a divine appointment for me. I pulled up to Red Robin with Joe and Doug Houghton. The Mount Vernon Academy bus was in the parking lot outside the mall. Doug encouraged me to go see if I could talk to anyone. I was able to introduce myself, make some small talk, and then meet the principle, who is interested in hearing more about the mission trips! I’ve wanted to recruit there, and I hope this opens the door. I’ll let you know how it goes.
ThisGeneration Mission Trip OH Update
I have some good news about the summer mission trip that ThisGeneration will be running in Dayton, OH this year.
My brother, Chris Albrecht, has agreed to be the program director. Because I’m working full time I can’t directly run the program. So in my searching for a leader, it finally was suggested to me, by another potential leader, that maybe Chris could do it. Great idea! He went to Mission College of Evangelism in 2006, did Bible work for Youth for Jesus that year in Portland, and has been involved in public campus ministries for a very long time. It will be great to have him around this year.
Also, we have been able to line up our health evangelism trainers for this summer. Janelle Morikone will be the trainer for the young adult trip, and Sarah Waterbrook will be the trainer for the teen trip. Janelle is an RN, and Sarah is a physical therapy assistant. These two will be the anchors, and we will be looking for others to assist them. We’ll have a great team to provide training for our students.
ThisGeneration Operation NY Updates
ThisGeneration recently received some very good news. Jeff Louis, our canvassing leader from last year, will be our program director for Operation NY this year. He is currently in his last semester at Ouachitta Hills College.
He did a great job of leading last summer, and we are confident he will be a good leader over the combined programs this year. Josh Schmieder will still be very active in the NY program, and will help the overall program to keep its culture. Jeff will be able to provide the stable onsite leadership that makes things hum.
We have also decided to host the main portion of our NY program in Niagara Falls. The church plant and ministries there provide a great place to base a program. It’s also the first place TGen held a program, back in 2009. God has led us a long way since then, and it will be great to go back and sow seeds in our original territory. We look forward to working with the churches in that area.
ThisGeneration Mission Trip In Dayton Needs Staff
ThisGeneration will be hosting a mission trip in Dayton, OH in conjunction with the Centerville Seventh-day Adventist church. We need adventurous staff members who are willing to join us for the month of July. Staff members have the opportunity to participate in Bible work, teach students how to do evangelism, and model the Christian life through mentorships.
ThisGeneration runs unique mission trip programs in American cities. Students come for one of two two-week programs and learn how to reach a city for Jesus. The mission trip trains students on evangelism principles, health evangelism, and public and personal outreach. Students then have the opportunity to put their education into practice through daily field school opportunities.
ThisGeneration brings in top quality evangelism trainers from some of the premier evangelism schools around the country. Students learn how to have their own spiritual life, share their testimony, how to find a Bible study, and how to give a Bible study. They also learn basic health principles and how to share what they know through weekend public outreach events. ThisGeneration seeks to do and teach complete evangelism, as well as show the mission trip participants the benefits of living close to Jesus.
ThisGeneration needs staff who are willing to fill the following roles: outreach coordinator, outreach assistants, guys’ deans and girls’ deans, cooks, and Bible workers. Staff will assist with the worships, training, deaning, and outreach. The mission trips are a great opportunity to gain more experience in evangelism in a team setting. Staff get to reach the community while also reaching the students. Please come join us this summer in Dayton and help fulfill the great commission!
